Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The final time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson confronted, roughly a year-and-a-half past, it was the former who emerged with the win. Though many thought Gustafsson could have had him, the judges awarded Jones a unanimous victory.
The chances last time around, however, were even more in favor of Jones, with Gustafsson laying anywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they are so close this time around speaks to how well he fared in the very first meeting, while also nodding towards just how much he’s improved his fast-twitch stamina.
Even so, Jones, who has not fought in 17 months, has mostly dominated everyone he’s come around in the Octagon. This battle should take more gas than he’s used to consuming up, but he must pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
